Services

Looking after children at Rehoboth  involves ensuring that they have a good education,  looking after their health, spiritual wellbeing and providing recreational  opportunities.

Home Life

House parents take care of the daily needs of the residents creating a family atmosphere where life values are learned and practised.

The development of independent living is the goal by the time residents leave Rehoboth.

Education

Children begin formal schooling at an elementary school, a few minutes down the road; they then move onto a local high school. After finishing high school a number of options are open, should they choose to continue with higher education, college or university.

Additional support, tutorial programmes and one to one lessons are given in the Home to support the residents in their learning.

Social Services

Social workers continuously monitor, update, and manage the cases of the children and young people under Rehoboth’s care in all three programmes - residential, REAP and independent living.

Church Life

Rehoboth was founded on firm Christian principles and core Christian values are taught at the Home during the week. Residents are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with God through personal devotions, attending Sunday school and church. They are also invited to attend Bible studies, and prayer meetings.

Health Care

Recording the physical development of the residents (weight and height) as well as visits to and from the doctor and dentist are all part of our health services at Rehoboth. Nutritious meals are planned each week and where possible this includes produce from our garden. The residents are encouraged to eat a balanced diet and take care of their health.

Recreation

Indoor and outdoor activities such as games and sports are regularly undertaken to enable the children to have time for leisure and relaxation. Once a year, the children and young people are taken on a trip to explore different parts of the Philippines.

Drawing class

Life skills

A variety of life skills are taught through the use of seminars and workshops with the aim of enabling our residents to reach their full potential in all aspects of life.

Making beads

Skills training

Rehoboth residents and staff are involved in various skills trainings and livelihood projects to help them to gain practical and business skills.
All products are made and/or designed by Rehoboth residents and staff, some of which have been ‘upcycled’ – a process of transforming by-products, or waste materials, into new products of better quality or of better environmental value.
