Rehoboth Children’s Home employs 9 full-time local staff. Amy Tuquero, the Executive Director, heads up the team which includes social workers, house parents, book keeper/driver and operation assistant who has responsibilities mainly in the garden but also includes general maintenance work and security too.

The Executive Director oversees the general running of the Home. She is a qualified Social Worker herself and as well dealing with a lot of the administration and financial matters, she is also actively involved in the daily lives of the residents.

In addition to Amy we currently have two Social Workers who oversee the case management of the residents and regularly conduct counselling and activities with the children.

Our House Parents are responsible for the daily lives of the children. We have two based in the boys’ house and two in the girls’ house. They look after the day-to -day needs of the children, teaching them how to become responsible family members.

Arthur Tuquero, Amy’s husband, is our book keeper and driver and you can see a picture of the jeepney he  drives to transport the children.

We also employ a part-time house helper to assist in the daily chores of washing and cooking, especially when other staff are on their day off.

Kathryn Thompson, a UK trustee, and unpaid volunteer teaches at the Home, helps with administration and provides support and communication between the Philippines and the U.K. Trustees.

Our second volunteer at the home is, Leah Ferrebee, a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer who is a trained horticulturalist, working with the staff and children to develop the garden at Rehoboth and has also been instrumental in obtaining funding for the well project. She is also involved in teaching life skills to the young people with the social workers and has led a couple of projects within the community. Listen to the podcast of the well. She is currently working on a signage project for the garden with the staff and residents.
