Essential transport for the children - The Jeepney!
Rehoboth Children’s Home Inc. (RCHI) is in the small village of Santa Maria, a few kilometres from the town of Camiling, in the province of Tarlac, on the northern island of Luzon. It’s about a three hour bus journey north from the capital city Manila.
RCHI had been renting two houses, one for the girls and one for the boys. However in 2005, through God’s goodness and provision we were able to buy 500 square metres of land and build a new house which now provides the living quarters for the girls as well as the main office for RCHI.
The boys live across the road in a rented house of similar size. Behind the boys house we have also been able to build a half size covered multi-purpose court which is used for basketball, volleyball and other games and activities. Beside the court we have a small playground with swings, slides, seesaws, climbing frame and monkey bars for the children to play on.
