At Rehoboth we seek to provide a safe, secure and happy Christian family where the children are able to feel at home and reach their full potential. We currently have about 50 children at the Home, with approximately an equal number of boys and girls ranging from the ages of six to twenty one. We have two houses; the girls sleep in one house and the boys in the other. The houses are located across the road from each other. In each house we have resident house parents who oversee the daily needs of the children. The children are taught and encouraged to be as independent as possible so one of the major roles of the house parents is to teach the residents how to take care of themselves and their belongings, wash their clothes, clean the environment, cook, wash the dishes, organise themselves for school and be a responsible member of the Rehoboth family. Within the two houses the residents are divided into five groups which operate on a rota system for daily chores such as cooking, washing up, cleaning the house and yard etc. After school and at weekends the house parents will monitor the activities of the residents which include things like gardening, laundry, cooking, cleaning, homework and playing. On weekday mornings the staff lead a short devotion with the residents in their separate houses and in the evenings there is a schedule of activities which include devotions, Bible study, singing and Bible games.
